I retired from running the
R&D Management Centre at Cranfield University on 30th June 2005. The centre
provided training courses which were sold on a purely commercial basis, with no
government input. By the time I retired from that, I had run 282 courses,
earning £1.97m for the university. Clients came from 800 organisations:
companies, universities and laboratories.
I now provide some courses
privately, but only in-house. As of My 2007 I have delivered 14 courses for 7
organisations. I also teach a management module for the Cranfield MSc in
Automotive Product Engineering and supervise one PhD student in the School of
Engineering at Cranfield.
I have started working on
environmental matters, aiming to halve the energy use of my house, and I have
also resumed my technical speciality of magnetism, working for one of my former
PhD students.
